The game had a very big importance for second-ranked Salon Vilpas as it allowed them to take a leadership position. Salon Vilpas defeated 4th ranked Helsinki Seagulls at home 95-89. Helsinki Seagulls was trailing by 5 points at halftime but managed to get 1-point lead after three quarters before a 25-18 charge of Salon Vilpas, which allowed them to win the game. American point guard Johnathan Jordan (178-92, college: Texas A&M-CC, agency: Slash Sports) orchestrated the victory by scoring 24 points and 5 rebounds. The former international point guard Teemu Rannikko (189-80) contributed with 18 points and 7 assists for the winners. International Tuukka Kotti (205-81, college: Providence) replied with a double-double by scoring 13 points, 10 rebounds and 7 assists and the former international Antti Kanervo (192-89, agency: Blacktop Management) added 15 points in the effort for Helsinki Seagulls. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Salon Vilpas (7-3) have an impressive five-game winning streak. As mentioned above they are alone now at the top position. Helsinki Seagulls at the other side keeps the fourth place with three games lost. They share the position with Kauhajoki. Helsinki Seagulls will play next round against Lapuan Korikobrat trying to get back on the winning streak. Salon Vilpas will try to continue on its current victory against third ranked BC Nokia at home.
