Regular Season Round 5: Polpharma - MKS DG 90-79

The game between third ranked MKS Dabrowa Gornicza (3-2) and tenth ranked Polpharma (3-1) was the most important one in the last round on Saturday night. MKS Dabrowa Gornicza was defeated by Polpharma in Starogard Gdanski 90-79. The hosts trailed by 7 points after three quarters before their 33-15 charge, which allowed them to win the game. Serbian Andrija Bojic (207-93, agency: BeoBasket) stepped up and scored 24 points, 8 rebounds and 4 blocks for the winners and American guard Joe Thomasson (193-93, college: Wright St.) chipped in 13 points and 6 assists. Five Polpharma players scored in double figures. American swingman Aaron Broussard (195-90, college: Seattle) responded with 19 points, 6 rebounds and 8 assists and the other American import forward DJ Shelton (208-91, college: Washington St.) produced a double-double by scoring 12 points and 11 rebounds. MKS Dabrowa Gornicza's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Polpharma moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Rosa. MKS Dabrowa Gornicza at the other side dropped to the sixth position with two games lost. They share it with Trefl. Polpharma is looking forward to face AZS Koszalin (#15) on the road in the next round which should be an easy win for them. MKS Dabrowa Gornicza will play against Miasto Szkla (#13) in Krosno and is hoping to win this game.
