Regular Season Round 5: Rapla - Valga 79-90

Another exciting game was between second ranked Valga and 3rd placed Rapla where Valga (4-1) beat Rapla (3-2) on the road 90-79. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Rapla. The game was mostly controlled by Valga. Rapla was better in third quarter 20-17. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Rapla was plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. Power forward Roberts Freimanis (204-91, college: BS Liepaja) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 10 rebounds. Guard Edgars Lasenbergs (189-95) contributed with 21 points (was perfect 10-for-10 from the free throw line !!!) for the winners. Four Valga players scored in double figures. American guard Nolan Cressler (195-94, college: Vanderbilt, agency: 3Eye) answered with 24 points and 4 steals (was perfect 9-for-9 from the free throw line !!!) and the former international forward Indrek Kajupank (200-88) added 15 points and 8 rebounds in the effort for Rapla. The victory was the fourth consecutive win for Valga. They maintain second place with 4-1 record behind leader Kalev/Cramo. Rapla at the other side keeps the third position with two games lost.
