Regular Season Round 4: Trikalla - PAOK 87-78

Date: October 28, 2017
Everything could happen in Trikala at the game between two tied teams. Both eighth ranked Aiolos Trikallon and 11th ranked PAOK had identical 1-2 record. This time Aiolos Trikallon used a home court advantage and defeated the opponent from Thessaloniki 87-78 on Saturday night. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But PAOK won fourth quarter 19-18. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Aiolos Trikallon made 23-of-29 free shots (79.3 percent) during the game. It was a very good performance for American swingman Lamond Murray-Jr (196, college: Pepperdine) who helped to win the game recording 23 points and 6 rebounds. Serbian power forward Marko Tejic (209-95, agency: BeoBasket) contributed with 16 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. Power forward Vangelis Margaritis (203-82) replied with 21 points and the former international guard Dimitrios Katsivelis (196-91) added 11 points and 6 assists in the effort for PAOK. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. PAOK's coach Ilias Papatheodorou rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Aiolos Trikallon (2-2) moved-up to sixth place, which they share with 4 other teams. Loser PAOK keeps the eleventh position with three games lost. Aiolos Trikallon will face G.Larissa-Faros (#8) in Keratsiniou in the next round. PAOK's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Thessaloniki Aris.
