Regular Season Round 7: Siarka - Enea Astoria 77-68

We could consider it a predictable result in the game between close teams when ninth ranked Siarka (4-3) beat 8th ranked Enea Astoria (3-3) in Tarnobrzeg 77-68 on Saturday. It was an exceptional evening for Wiktor Sewiol (198-97, college: N.Platte CC) who led the winners and scored 29 points and 9 rebounds (on 13-of-17 shooting from the field). The former international center Piotr Niedzwiedzki (210-93) accounted for 5 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists for the winning side. Mikolaj Grod (194-89) came up with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 14 rebounds and Mateusz Bierwagen (195-88, agency: Promotex) added 14 points and 7 rebounds respectively for Enea Astoria in the defeat. Enea Astoria's coach Konrad Kazmierczyk rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Siarka moved-up to seventh place, which they share with Pruszkow. Loser Enea Astoria dropped to the tenth position with three games lost. Siarka will meet higher ranked Polfarmex (#4) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Enea Astoria will play against Pogon Prudnik (#13) and hope to secure a win.
