There was a surprise result in Vitoria where fourteenth ranked Zaragoza (2-4) beat higher ranked Baskonia (2-4) 78-73 on Sunday. The guests trailed by 1 point at the halftime before their 21-12 charge in the third quarter, which allowed them to win the game. The best player for the winners was American guard Gary Neal (193-84, college: Towson) who scored 25 points and 4 assists. Dutch center Nicolas de-Jong (210-88) chipped in 16 points and 7 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was Georgian Tornike Shengelia (206-91) who recorded a double-double by scoring 21 points and 10 rebounds and French guard Rodrigue Beaubois (185-88) added 12 points and 6 rebounds respectively. Both coaches allowed to play bench players in such tough game. Zaragoza moved-up to twelfth place, which they share with 3 other teams including defeated Baskonia. Zaragoza will face Gipuzkoa (#13) in San Sebastian in the next round.
