Regular Season Round 5: Civitanova - Spezzina 70-47

Date: October 29, 2017
There was a surprise result when tenth ranked Civitanova (2-2) crushed higher ranked Spezzina (2-3) in Civitanova Marche 70-47 on Sunday. Civitanova had a 33-18 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists comparing to just 10 passes made by Spezzina's players. Guard Veronica Perini (175-88) orchestrated the victory by scoring 24 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists. Power forward Jomanda Rosier (184-89) contributed with 15 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. The former international guard Elisa Templari (175-89, agency: LBM Management) answered with 16 points and power forward Chiara Cadoni (185-94) added 8 points and 9 rebounds in the effort for Spezzina. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Civitanova moved-up to sixth place in A2. Loser Spezzina dropped to the seventh position with three games lost. Civitanova will face league's leader Bologna on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Spezzina will play against Orvieto (#5) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
