Regular Season Round 5: Saitama Bron. - Kagoshima 71-72

The most exciting game of round 5 in the B League D3 took place in Saitama. This derby game ended with only one-point home defeat of 3rd placed Saitama Broncos (5-5) to fifth ranked Kagoshima (5-5) 72-71 in the game for the third place. Kagoshima dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to Saitama Broncos' 28. American forward Chris Olivier (203-92, college: Oklahoma St.) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 12 rebounds for the winners and point guard Yasudo Yamada (179-98) chipped in 12 points and 6 rebounds. Point guard Nishi Yutaro (176-92) responded with 23 points and 6 rebounds and guard Masaki Odo (169-90) produced a double-double by scoring 12 points and 14 rebounds. Saitama Broncos' coach tried various players' combinations and tested in total eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Kagoshima have an impressive series of five victories in a row. They moved-up to third place, which they share with Saitama Bron. Kagoshima is looking forward to face league's leader Tokyo HT at home in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Saitama Broncos will play against Tokyo Big Blue and are hoping to win this game.
