Regular Season Round 5: Promete - Olimpico 64 68-74

Olimpico 64 has registered their first victory this season after four consecutive losses. The win is especially important as it came on the road game in Logrono, where they defeated Promete (0-5) 74-68 on Sunday. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Promete won third quarter 19-18. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The best player for the winners was the former international power forward Irene Herradas (186-78) who had a double-double by scoring 12 points and 10 rebounds. Power forward Julia Rabadan (180-86) chipped in 11 points and 8 rebounds. Guard Maria-Ylenia Manzanares (175-83) produced a double-double by scoring 16 points and 12 rebounds and forward Laura Arroyo (181-91) added 15 points and 10 rebounds respectively for the hosts. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Olimpico 64 (1-4) left bottom position moving up to ninth place in Group B, which they share with 4 other teams. It was Promete's fifth loss in a row. They still close the standings with five games lost. Olimpico 64 will meet at home Adareva (#11) in the next round. Promete will play against Magec Tias in Las Palmas and hopes to get finally their first victory.
