Regular Season Round 4: Al Riyadi - Sagesse 88-65

The most interesting game was a derby match between two local teams from Beirut: Al Riyadi (#1) and Sagesse (#4). Al Riyadi (4-0) smashed visiting Sagesse (2-2) by 23 points 88-65. Al Riyadi dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to Sagesse's 34. Al Riyadi had a 35-24 advantage in offensive rebounds. The former international point guard Wael Arakji (194-94) fired 22 points and 5 assists (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field) for the winners. American center Chris Daniels (205-84, college: Texas A&M-CC) chipped in a double-double by scoring 14 points and 11 rebounds. Canadian center Michael Fraser (203-84, college: Oklah.Baptist) produced a double-double by scoring 17 points and 20 rebounds and American forward Dewayne Jackson (203-90, college: Morgan St., agency: Higher Vision Sports) added 15 points and 7 rebounds respectively for lost side. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Al Riyadi have a solid four-game winning streak. Defending champion maintains first position with 4-0 record, which they share with Champville. Sagesse at the other side dropped to the fifth place with two games lost. Al Riyadi is looking forward to face league's second-placed Champville in Dik El Mehdi in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Sagesse will play at home against Louaize and is hoping to prove to their fans that the loss was just an accident.
