There was a surprise result when ninth ranked Tezenis Verona (3-2) defeated at home higher ranked Dinamica MNV (3-2) 86-70 on Sunday. The best player for the winners was American point guard Phil Greene-IV (187-92, college: St.John's) who scored 22 points and 4 assists. The former international forward Mattia Udom (200-93) chipped in 17 points. Four Tezenis Verona players scored in double figures. The former international power forward Francesco Candussi (211-94) produced a double-double by scoring 21 points and 10 rebounds and American-Guinean forward Robert Jones (201-84, college: Washington) added 15 points and 7 rebounds respectively for the guests. Tezenis Verona moved-up to sixth place in A2. Tezenis Verona will face higher ranked F.Kontatto BO (#3) in Bologna in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Dinamica MNV will play at home against Treviso Basket (#11) and hope to win that game.
