The game between closely ranked teams ended with 6th ranked Yokohama BC's (2-9) road loss to fifth ranked Hitachi Sunrockers (5-6) in Tokyo 59-71 on Sunday. Canadian center Robert Sacre (213-89, college: Gonzaga) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 10 rebounds. The former international forward Yuki Mitsuhara (198-89) contributed with 11 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. Four Hitachi Sunrockers players scored in double figures. Tanzanian center Hasheem Thabeet (218-87, college: Connecticut) answered with 8 points and 13 rebounds and international point guard Ryo Tawatari (180-93, college: Dominican, CA) added 14 points and 4 assists in the effort for Yokohama BC. Both coaches tested many bench players saving starting five for next games. Hitachi Sunrockers moved-up to second place, which they share with San-en and Niigata Albirex. Loser Yokohama BC keeps the sixth position with nine games lost. Hitachi Sunrockers will face Nishinomiya S. (#3) in Hyogo in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Yokohama BC will play at home against the league's second-placed San-en NeoPhoenix and hope to win that game.
