The game had a very big importance for third-ranked Capitanes as it allowed them to take a leadership position. Capitanes defeated 9th ranked Toros in Mexico 78-74. Capitanes made 18-of-23 free shots (78.3 percent) during the game. Worth to mention a great performance of the former international guard Gabriel Giron (192-88) who helped to win the game recording 14 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists and the former international Hector Hernandez (205-85, college: Fresno St., agency: BeoBasket) who added 15 points and 5 rebounds during the contest. Four Capitanes players scored in double figures. At the losing side international forward Idris Alvarado (196-91) responded with 25 points and Puerto Rican center Jorge-Bryan Diaz (210-89, college: Nebraska) scored 8 points and 10 rebounds. As mentioned above they are at the top of the standings, which they share with Fuerza Regia and Soles. Toros lost third consecutive game. They keep the ninth place with three games lost. They share the position with Panteras. Toros will play next round against strong Soles trying to get back on the winning streak. Capitanes will try to continue on its current victory against second ranked Fuerza Regia in Monterrey.
