Regular Season Round 5: Civitanova - Recanati 74-84

Everything could happen at the game between two tied teams. Both twelfth ranked Recanati and 10th ranked Civitanova had identical 2-2 record. But Civitanova was not able to use a home court advantage and was defeated by the opponent from Recanati 84-74 on Sunday night. Recanati dominated down low during the game scoring 40 of its points in the paint compared to Civitanova's 16. Recanati forced 20 Civitanova turnovers. Strangely Civitanova outrebounded Recanati 39-27 including 27 on the defensive glass. The best player for the winners was guard Giacomo Gurini (192-84) who scored 26 points and 9 rebounds. Forward Attilio Pierini (201-81) chipped in 20 points and 6 rebounds. Four Recanati players scored in double figures. Guard Lorenzo Andreani (183-87) produced 7 points, 7 rebounds and 12 assists and forward Riccardo Coviello (195-88) added 14 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists respectively for the hosts. Recanati (3-2) moved-up to fourth place in B, which they share with 6 other teams. Newly promoted Civitanova keeps the tenth position with three games lost. Recanati will face Campli (#5) at home in the next round. Civitanova will play against Perugia (#16) and hope to win that game.
