Regular Season Round 6: Brahe Basket - Eskilstuna 66-98
Date: October 29, 2017
No shocking result in a game when second ranked Eskilstuna (4-1) crushed bottom-ranked Brahe Basket (0-5) in Huskvarna 98-66 on Sunday. The game was mostly controlled by Eskilstuna. Brahe Basket was better in fourth quarter 20-16. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Eskilstuna dominated down low during the game scoring 66 of its points in the paint compared to Brahe Basket's 40 and made 17-of-21 free shots (81.0 percent) during the game. Eskilstuna forced 31 Brahe Basket turnovers. It was a good game for guard Ramon Mirianidis (183-95) who led his team to a victory with 12 points. Guard Henrik Aronsson (183-95) contributed with 9 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. Four Eskilstuna players scored in double figures. Point guard Carl Sundkvist (175-97) replied with 32 points and guard Joel Penndal (183-99) added 17 points in the effort for Brahe Basket. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Eskilstuna have a solid four-game winning streak. They maintain second position with 4-1 record having just three points less than leader KFUM Blackeberg, which they share with Nacka Basket. Newly promoted Brahe Basket still closes the standings with five games lost. Eskilstuna will face Bankeryd (#4) on the road in the next round. Brahe Basket will play against Haga BG (#7) in Norrkoping and hopes to get finally their first victory.
