Regular Season Round 11: Ehime OV - Gunma 89-87

The most exciting game of round 11 in the B League D2 took place in Matsuyama. This derby game ended with only two-point defeat on the road of second-ranked Gunma (6-5) to second ranked Orange Vikings (9-2) 89-87 in the game for the second place. 30 personal fouls committed by Gunma helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. It was a great evening for American forward Chehales Tapscott (195-90, college: Portland St.) who led his team to a victory scoring 15 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists. Guard Masamune Tate (178-88) helped adding 20 points and 5 assists. Orange Vikings' coach used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. American forward Thomas Kennedy (201-87, college: Detroit Mercy) responded with a double-double by scoring 36 points (!!!) and 12 rebounds and guard Fumiya Fumiya (186-77) scored 23 points. Orange Vikings have an impressive series of seven victories in a row. They maintain second place with 9-2 record behind leader Shinshu BW which they share with defeated Gunma. Gunma at the other side keeps the second position with five games lost. They share it with Hiroshima D. and Kumamoto V.. Orange Vikings are looking forward to face league's leader Fukuoka Rizing at home in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Gunma will play against Tokyo Z and is hoping to win this game.
