Very important is a road loss of third ranked Iskra Svit (5-3) against fourth ranked Kosice (5-3) on Tuesday night. Visiting Iskra Svit was defeated by Kosice in a tough game in Kosice 76-85. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Iskra Svit. Kosice made 18-of-22 charity shots (81.8 percent) during the game. They outrebounded Iskra Svit 43-31 including 31 on the defensive glass. Kosice players were unselfish on offense dishing 21 assists. The winners were led by Serbian power forward Svetozar Stamenkovic (206-90) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 21 points, 15 rebounds and 4 assists and Croatian forward Igor Maric (196-85, agency: PEPI SPORT) supported him with 15 points and 5 rebounds. Even a double-double of 12 points, 13 rebounds and 4 assists by Serbian point guard Marko Radonjic (191-93) did not help to save the game for Iskra Svit. American guard Anthony Jackson (196-89, college: Florida Tech) added 16 points and 5 rebounds for the guests. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Kosice moved-up to third place, which they share with defeated Iskra Svit. Kosice will play against Rieker KN (#6) in Komarno in the next round. Iskra Svit will play at home against Nova Ves and hopes to get back on the winning track.
