Regular Season Round 9: Korihait - Lapua 70-90

We cannot really consider it an upset in the game between close teams in Uusikaupunki where 8th ranked UU-Korihait (3-7) was rolled over by ninth ranked Lapuan Korikobrat (2-6) 90-70. The game without a history. Lapuan Korikobrat led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Lapuan Korikobrat outrebounded UU-Korihait 49-34 including 16 on the offensive glass. Lapuan Korikobrat brought some defensive toughness making 7 blocks. It was a good game for American-Italian guard Lucas Woodhouse (190-94, college: Stony Brook, agency: Interperformances) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 24 points, 11 rebounds and 6 assists. American Maurice Creek (196-90, college: G.Washington) contributed with 25 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. Four Lapuan Korikobrat players scored in double figures. American forward Juan Pattillo (203-88, college: W.Kentucky) answered with 19 points and 6 rebounds and the other American import point guard Chaz Williams (175-91, college: Massachusetts, agency: Two Points) added 13 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists in the effort for UU-Korihait. UU-Korihait's coach tested eleven players seeing no chance for a win. Despite that victory Lapuan Korikobrat went down to tenth position due to points difference. UU-Korihait lost their fourth game in a row. They keep the eighth place with seven games lost. Lapuan Korikobrat's next round opponent will be league's leader Salon Vilpas at home and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
