Regular Season Round 8: Levice - Prievidza 90-89

The most exciting game of round 8 in the SBL took place in Levice. This derby game ended with only one-point defeat on the road of 5th ranked Prievidza (4-4) to second ranked Levice (7-1) 90-89 on Wednesday evening. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Prievidza. Levice looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of Estonian guard Tanel Kurbas (197-88) who helped to win the game recording 26 points and 6 rebounds (perfect from the field making all ten shots !!!) and Slovenian guard Miha Vasl (192-92, agency: PEPI SPORT) who added 28 points (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field) during the contest. American-Liberian point guard Jaytornah Wisseh (185-88, college: LIU Brooklyn) responded with 21 points and 6 assists and Jamaican-British forward Ryan Martin (206-91, college: Tenn Tech) scored 19 points. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Levice have a solid three-game winning streak. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with Inter Bratislava. Prievidza at the other side keeps the fifth place with four games lost. Levice is looking forward to face league's leader Inter Bratislava on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Prievidza will play against Karlovka (#7) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
