Everything went according to plan when fourteenth ranked Civitanova (3-3) outplayed on the road 16th ranked Perugia (1-5) 93-57 on Wednesday. Civitanova shot 61.8 percent from the field. Civitanova outrebounded Perugia 36-22 including a 29-15 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a great shooting night for Civitanova especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 55.6 percentage. It was a good game for the former international guard Gennaro Tessitore (189-82) who led his team to a victory with 25 points. Forward Riccardo Coviello (195-88) contributed with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 12 rebounds for the winners. Four Civitanova players scored in double figures. Umberto Meschini (188-94) replied with 20 points and naturalized Czech guard Filippo Meccoli-Matejca (195-92) added 20 points in the effort for Perugia. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Civitanova moved-up to seventh place in B, which they share with 4 other teams. Loser Perugia dropped to the thirteenth position with five games lost. Civitanova will face Senigallia (#15) at home in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Perugia will play against Ortona and hope to win that game.
