Regular Season Round 8: Zilina - Rieker KN 87-75

Bottom-ranked Zilina managed to get a second victory, breaking the five-game losing streak on Wednesday night. This time newly promoted Zilina won against sixth-ranked Rieker KN 87-75. Zilina dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to Rieker KN's 32. The best player for the winners was American point guard Walter Wright (178, college: Montana) who scored 34 points (!!!), 5 rebounds and 7 assists. The other American import center Brandon Holcomb (201-93, college: Radford) chipped in 8 points and 15 rebounds. American forward Miles Bowman-Jr (198-93, college: High Point) produced 18 points and 8 rebounds and Croatian power forward Mise Diminic (208-89, agency: XL Basketball Agency) added 17 points and 9 rebounds respectively for the guests. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Rieker KN's coach Milos Sporar rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Zilina (2-6) moved-up to eighth place, which they share with Handlova and Nova Ves. Rieker KN lost third consecutive game. They keep the sixth position with five games lost. They share it with Karlovka. Zilina will meet Handlova (#8) on the road in the next round. Rieker KN will play against Kosice and hope to secure a win.
