Regular Season Round 9: Espoo United - Pyrinto 99-104

Everything went according to plan when seventh ranked Tampereen Pyrinto (4-4) beat on the road 10th ranked Espoo United (3-7) 104-99. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Espoo United won fourth quarter 29-27. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Tampereen Pyrinto made 24-of-27 charity shots (88.9 percent) during the game. Americans were the main players on the court. It was a good game for Brian Asbury (201-86, college: Miami, FL) who led his team to a victory with 34 points (!!!) and 7 rebounds. Guard JuanYa Green (188-92, college: Hofstra, agency: 3Eye) contributed with 24 points and 5 assists for the winners. Point guard Jeb Ivey (190-80, college: Portland St.) answered with 23 points and 4 assists and guard Omar Calhoun (198-93, college: Connecticut) added 23 points in the effort for Espoo United. Four Tampereen Pyrinto and five Espoo United players scored in double figures. Tampereen Pyrinto moved-up to sixth place. Newly promoted Espoo United dropped to the eighth position with seven games lost. Tampereen Pyrinto's next round opponent will be higher ranked Kouvot (#3) in Kouvola and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
