Regular Season Round 7: Latvija U16 - Latvija U17 59-81

The most exciting game was a derby match between two local teams from Riga: Latvija U17 (#5) and Latvija U16 (#6). Latvija U16 was crushed at home by 22 points 59-81 and even the advantage of their own court did not help. Latvija U17 forced 23 Latvija U16 turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of point guard Jete Nulle (168-1) who helped to win the game recording 12 points, 6 assists and 6 steals. Guard Ketija Vihmane (169-1) contributed with 15 points for the winners. Point guard Ance Laila Zeidaka (156) answered with 13 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists and Sarlote Balode added 16 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Latvija U16. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Latvija U17 (2-2) moved-up to third place, which they share with G4S Noorteliiga and Liepajas SSS. Latvija U16 at the other side still closes the standings with three games lost. Latvija U17 is looking forward to face Saldus (#6) at home in the next round. Latvija U16 will play against the league's second-placed Tartu U. and hopes to get finally their first victory.
