Undefeated Atenas (4-1) recorded its first loss in Carmen de Patagones. Hosts were edged by fifth ranked Rivadavia M. (1-2) 61-60. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Atenas. American guard Casey Jones (196-93, college: Chattanooga) stepped up and scored 15 points and 7 rebounds for the winners and swingman Gonzalo Alvarez (200-92) chipped in 17 points and 5 rebounds. American forward Joseph Efese (198, college: Cent.Conn.St.) responded with 15 points and 9 rebounds and Paraguayan forward Gabriel Peralta (201-95) produced a double-double by scoring 11 points and 10 rebounds. Newly promoted Rivadavia M. maintains fifth place with 1-2 record, which they share with Barrio Parque and La Union. Atenas at the other side still keeps top position with one game lost. Rivadavia M. will play against higher ranked Estudiantes O. (#3) in Olavarria in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Atenas will play at home against C.Espanol P. and hopes to get back on the winning track.
