Regular Season Round 5: Wildcats - Kings 93-69

Date: November 3, 2017
No shocking result in a game when second ranked Perth Wildcats (5-1) crushed at home bottom-ranked Kings (2-6) 93-69 on Friday. Perth Wildcats dominated down low during the game scoring 50 of its points in the paint compared to Kings' 30 and made 19-of-22 free shots (86.4 percent) during the game. Perth Wildcats looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Cameroonian-American forward JP Tokoto (198-93, college: N.Carolina) orchestrated the victory by scoring 15 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists. The former international center Angus Brandt (208-89, college: Oregon St.) contributed with a double-double by scoring 10 points and 10 rebounds for the winners. Five Perth Wildcats players scored in double figures. American forward Perry Ellis (203-93, college: Kansas) answered with 19 points and 7 rebounds and the former international swingman Brad Newley (199-85, agency: BeoBasket) added 11 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Kings. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Defending champion maintains second place with 5-1 record behind leader Breakers. Loser Kings stay at the bottom position with six games lost. Perth Wildcats will face league's leader New Zealand Breakers in Auckland in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Kings will play on the road against United (#3) in Melbourne and hope to win that game.
