Regular Season Round 8: Hidd - Al-Hala 55-102

Date: November 3, 2017
Bottom-ranked Hidd (0-7) is still winless. This time they could not use their home court advantage losing their seventh consecutive match to fifth ranked Al-Hala (5-2) 102-55. Al-Hala dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to Hidd's 28. Al-Hala forced 19 Hidd turnovers and outrebounded them 43-26 including a 35-17 advantage in defensive rebounds. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 33 assists comparing to just 8 passes made by Hidd's players. The winners were led by American-Lebanese center Loren Woods (218-78, college: Arizona) who scored that evening 9 points and 16 rebounds and Jordanian Ahmed Jamal (-87) supported him with 24 points. Even 8 points and 5 rebounds by Ashraf Moaweya did not help to save the game for Hidd. Nooraldeen Mohamed added 7 points for the hosts. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Al-Hala have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain fifth position with 5-2 record. Newly promoted Hidd still closes the standings with seven games lost. They share the position with Samaheej. Al-Hala will play against higher ranked Al-Manama (#3) in Manama in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Hidd will play on the road against Al-Ittihad (#6) in Manama and hopes to get finally their first victory.
