Regular Season Round 12: Nishinomiya S. - Hitachi SR 68-72

We cannot really consider it an upset in the game between close teams in Hyogo where 4th ranked Nishinomiya S. (4-9) was defeated by fifth ranked Hitachi Sunrockers (7-6) 72-68 on Friday. Hitachi Sunrockers outrebounded Nishinomiya S. 49-36 including a 17-3 advantage in offensive rebounds. Worth to mention a great performance of Canadian center Robert Sacre (213-89, college: Gonzaga) who helped to win the game recording 18 points and 8 rebounds and American forward Josh Harrellson (208-89, college: Kentucky) who added 15 points and 11 rebounds during the contest. Hitachi Sunrockers' coach Geoffrey Katsuhisa used an eleven-player rotation in such tough game. The best for the losing side was American forward Connor Lammert (206-94, college: Texas) with 9 points and 11 rebounds and swingman Naoki Tani (193-88) scored 13 points. Hitachi Sunrockers have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to second place, which they share with Kyoto Hannar. Newly promoted Nishinomiya S. keeps the fourth position with nine games lost. Hitachi Sunrockers will face Hokkaido L. (#4) in Saporro in the next round. Nishinomiya S. will play at home against the league's leader Ryukyu GK and hope to win that game.
