Rather expected game in Nagoya where 5th ranked Diamond Dolphins (4-9) were defeated by third ranked Toshiba Thunders (9-4) 96-78 on Friday. Toshiba Thunders outrebounded Diamond Dolphins 41-30 including 16 on the offensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 32 assists comparing to just 18 passes made by Diamond Dolphins' players. Americans were the main players on the court also this time. Worth to mention a great performance of power forward Nick Fazekas (211-85, college: Nevada) who helped to win the game recording a triple-double by scoring 26 points, 11 rebounds and 11 assists and forward Josh Davis (203-91, college: San Diego St.) who added 18 points and 10 rebounds during the contest. Four Toshiba Thunders players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was forward Justin Burrell (207-88, college: St.John's) with 17 points and 8 rebounds and Craig Brackins (208-87, college: Iowa St.) scored 12 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Toshiba Thunders moved-up to second place, which they share with Chiba Jets. Diamond Dolphins lost fourth consecutive game. They dropped to the fourth position with nine games lost. Toshiba Thunders will face Tochigi Brex (#6) at home in the next round. Diamond Dolphins will play against the league's second-placed San-en NeoPhoenix and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
