Regular Season Round 12: Tochigi Brex - Chiba Jets 69-76

Not a big story in a game when 6th ranked Tochigi Brex (4-9) was defeated at home by second ranked Chiba Jets (9-4) 76-69 on Saturday. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Chiba Jets made 7 blocks. Tochigi Brex was plagued by 26 personal fouls down the stretch. Worth to mention a great performance of American power forward Gavin Edwards (206-88, college: Connecticut) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 27 points and 12 rebounds and the other American import forward Michael Parker (202-81, college: Evergreen St.) who added 15 points and 16 rebounds during the contest. Four Chiba Jets players scored in double figures. Chiba Jets' coach Atsushi Ono used an eleven-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. The best for the losing side was American guard Cedric Bozeman (198-83, college: UCLA) with 18 points and 8 rebounds and the former international power forward Kosuke Takeuchi (206-85) scored 8 points, 11 rebounds and 6 assists. Chiba Jets maintains second position with 9-4 record having just three points less than leader Ryukyu GK, which they share with Toshiba BT. Defending champion Tochigi Brex dropped to the fourth place with nine games lost. Chiba Jets will face league's leader Toyota Alvark in Tokyo in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Tochigi Brex will play on the road against Toshiba Thunders in Kanagawa and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
