Regular Season Round 6: Segle XXI - ADBA 49-76

Rather expected game in Barcelona where bottom-ranked Segle XXI (0-6) was rolled over by twelfth ranked ADBA (2-4) 76-49 on Saturday. The guests trailed by 6 points after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 14-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 76-49. ADBA dominated on the defensive end, holding Segle XXI to just 4 points in second quarter. It was a great shooting night for ADBA especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 64.7 percentage. The best player for the winners was American guard Isis Thorpe (173-95, college: VCU) who scored 30 points and 4 steals. The other American import forward Ashley Beals (183, college: Miss.Valley St.) chipped in a double-double by scoring 14 points and 10 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was Aixa Wone (184-0) who recorded 8 points and 9 rebounds and forward Helena Pueyo (182-1) added 4 points and 5 rebounds respectively. Segle XXI's coach Ivan Torinos gave up on the game allowing to play eleven players seeing no chance for a win. ADBA moved-up to eleventh place in Group A. Loser Segle XXI still closes the standings with six games lost. ADBA will face Oviedo (#13) at home in the next round. Segle XXI will play against Maquinaria Ensino and looks forward to get finally their first victory.
