Bottom-ranked Widzew is still unable to win any game. This time they could not use their home court advantage losing their seventh consecutive match to eighth ranked CCC Polkowice (4-4) 99-66 on Saturday evening. The game without a history. CCC Polkowice led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 52 of its points in the paint compared to Widzew's 28. CCC Polkowice forced 21 Widzew turnovers. They shot the lights out from three sinking 12 long-distance shots on high 63.2 percentage. CCC Polkowice looked well-organized offensively handing out 28 assists comparing to just 14 passes made by Widzew's players. The winners were led by Latvian point guard Elina Dikeoulakou (173-89) who scored that evening 21 points (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) and Greek forward Artemis Spanou (188-93, college: Robert Morris) supported her with 14 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists. CCC Polkowice's coach Georgios Dikeoulakos felt very confident using 10 players saving starting five for next games. Even 20 points, 5 rebounds and 4 blocks by American swingman Kathleen Scheer (187-89, college: Duke) did not help to save the game for Widzew. International Roksana Schmidt (180-92, agency: Promotex) added 12 points for the hosts. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. CCC Polkowice have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to seventh place. Loser Widzew still closes the standings with seven games lost. They share the position with Enea AZS P.. CCC Polkowice will meet at home higher ranked Energa Torun (#5) in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Widzew will play against Basket Gdynia (#4) and looks forward to get finally their first victory.
