Regular Season Round 12: Nagoya DD - Toshiba BT 89-90

Fifth-ranked Diamond Dolphins (4-9) gave a tough game to third ranked Toshiba Thunders (9-4) in Nagoya. The visitors from Kanagawa managed to secure only one-point victory 90-89. However their fans expected easier game. Toshiba Thunders shot the lights out from three nailing 14 long-distance shots on high 51.9 percentage. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 25 assists. Americans were the main players on the court. It was a good game for power forward Nick Fazekas (211-85, college: Nevada) who saved his team from a defeat with 34 points (!!!) and 7 rebounds (went 7 for 7 at the free throw line). Forward Josh Davis (203-91, college: San Diego St.) contributed with 9 points and 14 rebounds for the winners. Forward Justin Burrell (207-88, college: St.John's) replied with 30 points and 9 rebounds and Craig Brackins (208-87, college: Iowa St.) added 20 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Diamond Dolphins. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Toshiba Thunders moved-up to second place, which they share with Chiba Jets. Diamond Dolphins lost fourth consecutive game. They dropped to the fourth position with nine games lost. Toshiba Thunders' next round opponent will be Tochigi Brex (#6) at home. Diamond Dolphins will play against the league's second-placed San-en NeoPhoenix and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
