Undefeated Leganes (5-1) recorded its first loss on the court of thirteenth ranked Almeria on Saturday night. Visitors were defeated by Almeria 71-57. It ended at the same time the five-game winning streak of Leganes. The game was mostly controlled by Almeria. Leganes managed to win second period 20-16. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They made 19-of-24 free shots (79.2 percent) during the game. The best player for the winners was power forward Alicia Gonzalez (187-86) who scored 20 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. Power forward Claudia Baraut (185-94) chipped in 18 points. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Almeria (2-4) moved-up to ninth place in Group B, which they share with Magec Tias and Olimpico 64. Leganes at the other side keeps the second position with one game lost. Almeria is looking forward to face Promete (#14) in Logrono in the next round where they are favorite. Leganes will play at home against the league's leader Gran Canaria (#1) where they are definitely not considered as a favorite in this game either.
