Regular Season Round 6: Adelantados - CVCD Granada 68-54

Everything could happen in San Cristobal at the game between two tied teams. Both seventh ranked Adelantados and 8th ranked CVCD Granada had identical 3-2 record. This time Adelantados used a home court advantage and won against the opponent from Granada 68-54 on Saturday night. The game was mostly controlled by Adelantados. CVCD Granada was better in fourth quarter 14-10. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The best player for the winners was American forward Caira Washington (188-95, college: G.Washington) who had a double-double by scoring 23 points and 14 rebounds (on 10-of-12 shooting from the field). Center Lucia Mendez (182-88) chipped in 14 points and 7 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was Patricia Fernandez who recorded 14 points and Maria Cerqueira added 10 points respectively. Both coaches tested many bench players saving starting five for next games. Adelantados have a solid four-game winning streak. They moved-up to third place in Group B, which they share with 4 other teams. CVCD Granada lost third consecutive game. Newly promoted team keeps the eighth position with three games lost. Adelantados will face Picken Claret (#5) in Valencia in the next round. CVCD Granada will play at home against Alcobendas and hope to win that game.
