Regular Season Round 8: Gorizont II - Victoria 86-68

Gorizont II can celebrate finally their first win this season after five consecutive losses. They used home court advantage to defeat Victoria (1-7) 86-68. The game without a history. Gorizont II led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They made 29-of-37 charity shots (78.4 percent) during the game, while Victoria only scored thirteen points from the stripe. Gorizont II forced 31 Victoria turnovers. Victoria was plagued by 33 personal fouls down the stretch. International power forward Ksenia Malashko (182-0) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 16 rebounds. Point guard Aleksandra Petushkova (170-0) contributed with 14 points and 6 assists for the winners. Four Gorizont II players scored in double figures. Point guard Yuliya Vasilevich (165-1) replied with 21 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists and forward Anastasia Synelshikova (182-1) added 4 points and 10 rebounds in the effort for Victoria. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. It was the only win of host team this round and in all other games visitors recorded victories. Gorizont II maintains sixth position with 1-5 record. It was Victoria's seventh loss in a row. They stay at the bottom place with seven games lost. Gorizont II will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Victoria will play on the road against BrGU COR Victoria (#5) in Brest and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
