Not a big story in a game when 18th ranked Ourense (1-5) was defeated at home by ninth ranked Blancos de Rueda (4-3) 72-65 on Saturday. The guests trailed by 4 points after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 4-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 72-65. Blancos de Rueda made 16-of-21 free shots (76.2 percent) during the game. It was a great evening for Dutch center Jito Kok (206-94, college: San Diego, agency: Court Side) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 13 points and 10 rebounds. American guard Greg Gantt (188-91, college: Florida Atlantic) helped adding 14 points and 6 rebounds. Four Blancos de Rueda players scored in double figures. At the losing side Finnish guard Roope Ahonen (186-90, agency: Blacktop Management) responded with 18 points and 5 rebounds and Senegalese center Abdoulaye Ndoye (207-95) scored 16 points and 7 rebounds. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Blancos de Rueda moved-up to fifth place, which they share with 3 other teams. Loser Ourense stay at the bottom position with five games lost. Blancos de Rueda will face Araberri (#6) in Vitoria-Gasteiz in the next round. Ourense will play on the road against CB Prat (#3) and hope to win that game.
