Regular Season Round 10: Melsele - Spirou B 84-63

The biggest surprise took place in Melsele where host Melsele (5-4) crushed league's leader Spirou B (7-3) 84-63 on Saturday evening. They outrebounded Spirou B 36-12 including a 25-10 advantage in defensive rebounds. Dutch power forward Patrick Hilliman (206-82, college: High Point) fired 23 points and 9 rebounds (on 10-of-12 shooting from the field) for the winners. Forward Nicolas Dhooge (194-79) chipped in 10 points and 6 rebounds. Four Melsele players scored in double figures. Forward William Robeyns (192-96, agency: Promotex) produced 25 points and forward Yannick Diop (192-95) added 9 points respectively for lost side. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Melsele moved-up to sixth place. Newly promoted Spirou B dropped to the fourth position with three games lost. They were replaced at the leadership position by Waregem. Spirou B will play next round against Ieper trying to make it back to the top of the standings. Melsele will try to continue on its current victory against twelfth ranked Gistel Oostende at home.
