Regular Season Round 9: Metropolitanos - Aduaneros 90-96

We cannot really consider it an upset in the game between close teams in Caracas where 4th placed Metropolitanos (6-8) were defeated by fifth ranked Aduaneros (6-6) 96-90. The former international forward Tomas Aguilera (198-77) nailed 18 points and 9 rebounds for the winning side and point guard Osman Alvarez (174-93) accounted for 17 points and 4 assists. Forward Jovanni Diaz (203-90) came up with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 10 rebounds and the former international center Alejandro Barrios (204-79) added 11 points and 6 rebounds respectively for Metropolitanos in the defeat. Four Aduaneros and five Metropolitanos players scored in double figures. Metropolitanos' coach tested ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Aduaneros moved-up to fourth place. Newly promoted Metropolitanos dropped to the fifth position with eight games lost. Aduaneros' next round opponent will be league's leader Guaros 2 in Barquisimeto and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
