Rather expected game when 8th ranked UU-Korihait (3-7) was crushed on the road by fifth ranked Kauhajoki (6-3) 118-76. The game without a history. Kauhajoki led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated on the defensive end, holding UU-Korihait to just 6 points in first quarter. Kauhajoki dominated down low during the game scoring 76 of its points in the paint compared to UU-Korihait's 50. They outrebounded UU-Korihait 38-26 including a 31-19 advantage in defensive rebounds. Kauhajoki players were unselfish on offense dishing 32 assists comparing to just 13 passes made by UU-Korihait's players. 24 personal fouls committed by UU-Korihait helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Americans were the main players on the court. It was a good game for guard Marcus Allen (191-94, college: Stanford) who led his team to a victory with 27 points. Swingman Rene Rougeau (198-86, college: UNLV, agency: Blacktop Management) contributed with 20 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists (on 10-of-13 shooting from the field) for the winners. Five Kauhajoki players scored in double figures. Forward Juan Pattillo (203-88, college: W.Kentucky) answered with 17 points and 5 steals and forward Sean OBrien (198-94, college: S.Illinois) added 14 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for UU-Korihait. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. The victory was the fifth consecutive win for Kauhajoki. They moved-up to fourth place. UU-Korihait lost their fourth game in a row. They keep the eighth position with seven games lost. Kauhajoki's next round opponent will be BC Nokia (#5) on the road.
