Regular Season Round 8: Hyeres-Toulon - Nanterre 90-86

There was a surprise result when ninth ranked Hyeres-Toulon (5-3) defeated at home one of their biggest challengers JSF Nanterre (5-3) 90-86 on Saturday. JSF Nanterre was trailing by 1 point at halftime but managed to get 2-point lead after three quarters before a 29-23 charge of Hyeres-Toulon, which allowed them to win the game. They shot the lights out from three sinking 12 long-distance shots on high 52.2 percentage. JSF Nanterre was plagued by 27 personal fouls down the stretch. Worth to mention a great performance of American forward Reggie Arnold (198-88, college: Boise St., agency: SportsVision-Service) who helped to win the game recording 19 points and 6 rebounds and the former international center Ferdinand Prenom (201-91) who added 15 points and 6 rebounds during the contest. German point guard Heiko Schaffartzik (183-84) responded with 18 points and 4 assists and American Jamal Shuler (191-86, college: VCU) scored 16 points and 4 assists (was perfect 8-for-8 from the free throw line). Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. JSF Nanterre's coach let to play ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Hyeres-Toulon moved-up to third place, which they share with 5 other teams including defeated JSF Nanterre. Hyeres-Toulon will face league's leader Le Mans at home in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. JSF Nanterre will play against Gravelines-Dunkerque and hope to win that game.
