There was a minor upset when 10th ranked Valsesia (3-4) was defeated on the road by thirteenth ranked Varese Robur (3-4) 79-64 on Saturday. Varese Robur made 22-of-27 free shots (81.5 percent) during the game. Strangely Valsesia outrebounded Varese Robur 34-21 including 25 on the defensive glass. It was a great shooting night for Varese Robur especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 56.3 percentage. It was a great evening for guard Riccardo Caruso (186-1) who led his team to a victory scoring 19 points and 7 rebounds. Guard Matteo Maruca (185-97) helped adding 19 points. Four Varese Robur players scored in double figures. At the losing side swingman Mattia Magrini (190-93) responded with 19 points and 7 rebounds and Guglielmo Sodero (191-93) scored 13 points and 5 rebounds. Varese Robur moved-up to ninth place in B, which they share with 4 other teams including defeated Valsesia. Varese Robur will face Oleggio (#10) on the road in the next round.
