Regular Season Round 8: Polfarmex Kutno - Siarka 82-76

Rather predictable result in Kutno where fourth ranked Polfarmex (6-1) defeated 7th ranked Siarka (4-4) 82-76 on Saturday. Polfarmex forced 19 Siarka turnovers. Siarka was plagued by 26 personal fouls down the stretch. Worth to mention a great performance of Arkadiusz Kobus (196-86, agency: Promotex) who helped to win the game recording 21 points and 8 rebounds and power forward Mateusz Szwed (198-91) who added 8 points and 8 rebounds during the contest. The former international center Piotr Niedzwiedzki (210-93) responded with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 10 rebounds and point guard Jakub Stanios (180-94) scored 12 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. Polfarmex moved-up to third place, which they share with Polonia Leszno. Loser Siarka dropped to the ninth position with four games lost. Polfarmex will face Pogon Prudnik (#13) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Siarka will play against Nysa Klodzko (#15) and hope to win that game and get promotion back to the PLK just one year after relegation.
