Regular Season Round 6: RC Celta - Lima-Horta 66-52

An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Vigo. Top-ranked Real Celta Vigo faced 4th ranked Lima-Horta. Host Real Celta Vigo (6-0) defeated guests from Barcelona (4-2) 66-52. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Lima-Horta. The game without a history. Real Celta Vigo led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 42 of its points in the paint compared to Lima-Horta's 18. Real Celta Vigo forced 20 Lima-Horta turnovers and outrebounded them 42-27 including a 30-18 advantage in defensive rebounds. Mali center Minata Keita (190-89) notched a double-double by scoring 15 points and 16 rebounds to lead the effort and American-Nigerian guard Sarah Ogoke (178-90, college: So.Poly State) supported her with 15 points and 7 rebounds. Four Real Celta Vigo players scored in double figures. Even 12 points and 5 rebounds by forward Ana Alonso (187-90) did not help to save the game for Lima-Horta. Montse Pujolreu added 10 points and 5 rebounds. Lima-Horta's coach Isaac Fernandez tested ten players and allowed the starting five to rest. Real Celta Vigo have an impressive six-game winning streak. They maintain first position in Group A with 6-0 record. Lima-Horta at the other side keeps the fourth place with two games lost. Real Celta Vigo's next round opponent will be GDKO Bizkaia (#3) in Galdakao, which may be the game of the day. Lima-Horta will play at home against Maquinaria Ensino and hope to win that game.
