Regular Season Round 9: Kangoeroes - Castors Braine 93-100

An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Boom. Leader Castors Braine faced 3rd placed Kangoeroes. Guests from Braine (8-0) defeated host Kangoeroes (7-2) 100-93. Castors Braine dominated down low during the game scoring 80 of its points in the paint compared to Kangoeroes' 56. Castors Braine forced 19 Kangoeroes turnovers. It was a good game for the former international point guard Marjorie Carpreaux (165-87, agency: LBM Management) who led her team to a victory with 19 points, 5 assists and 4 steals. American center Celeste Trahan-Davis (186-85, college: Elizabeth City, agency: LBM Management) contributed with 16 points and 6 rebounds (perfect from the field making all seven shots !!!) for the winners. Castors Braine's coach Ainars Zvirgzdins allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. American-Italian forward Emily Correal (190-90, college: William & Mary, agency: Two Points) answered with 32 points and 8 rebounds and the former international Jana Raman (185-91) added 25 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for Kangoeroes. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Castors Braine have an impressive series of eight victories in a row. Defending champion maintains first place with 8-0 record. Kangoeroes at the other side dropped to the second position with two games lost. They share it with Sint Katelijne. Castors Braine will play against Jeugd Gentson (#10) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Kangoeroes will play against Tulikivi (#9) and hope to get back on the winning track.
