Regular Season Round 8: Asker - Bergen 71-58

Date: November 4, 2017
Bottom-ranked Bergen is still unable to win any game. But it was rather predictable considering how strong their opponent was. This time they lost on the road their fifth consecutive match to second ranked Asker (6-1) 71-58 on Saturday evening. The game without a history. Asker led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 60 of its points in the paint compared to Bergen's 28. Asker forced 25 Bergen turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. The winners were led by forward Ingrid Selvik (178-92) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 12 points and 15 rebounds and forward Julie Wilborn (182-98) supported her with 15 points. Even a double-double of 25 points and 10 rebounds by guard Emma-Mathilde Tallaksen (174-99) did not help to save the game for Bergen. Guard Kaia Brendesaeter (169-99) added 10 points, 7 rebounds, 9 assists and 5 steals for the guests. Asker keeps a position of league leader, which they share with Ullern. Loser Bergen still closes the standings with five games lost. Asker will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Bergen will play against Storm Ungdom (#7) and hopes to get finally their first victory.
