There was a surprise result in Coruna where seventeenth ranked Leyma Basquet (2-4) outscored higher ranked Lleida Basquet (3-4) 93-74 on Saturday. The game without a history. Leyma Basquet led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists comparing to just 9 passes made by Lleida Basquet's players. It was a great evening for point guard Jorge Sanz (188-93) who led his team to a victory scoring 18 points and 8 assists (made all of his eight free throws). American guard Trevor Cooney (193-92, college: Syracuse) helped adding 15 points (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field). Four Leyma Basquet players scored in double figures. At the losing side Serbian Brano Djukanovic (194-95) responded with 22 points and 4 assists and forward Miguel Feliu (198-85) scored 14 points. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Leyma Basquet moved-up to twelfth place. Loser Lleida Basquet dropped to the ninth position with four games lost. Leyma Basquet will face Caceres Basket (#13) on the road in the next round.
