Regular Season Round 4: PAOK - Niki Lefkadas 64-72

Date: November 5, 2017
The most crucial game of the last round was the first loss of PAOK (3-1) in Thessaloniki on Sunday night. Hosts were defeated by fifth ranked Niki Lefkadas (3-1) 72-64. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of PAOK. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But PAOK won third quarter 18-17. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded PAOK 43-23 including a 14-3 advantage in offensive rebounds. Worth to mention a great performance of American guard Hailey Dunham (188-87, college: USC) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 19 points, 14 rebounds and 6 assists. The other American import forward Peyton Whitted (190-95, college: Penn St.) contributed with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 11 rebounds for the winners. Four Niki Lefkadas players scored in double figures. American-Bahrain forward Brittany Lewis (188-89, college: Louisiana Tech) replied with 18 points and American guard Keani Albanez (178-93, college: Gonzaga) added 15 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for PAOK. PAOK's coach Vassilis Maslarinos rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Niki Lefkadas moved-up to fourth place, which they share with defeated PAOK. Niki Lefkadas is looking forward to face league's leader Faros Keratsiniou in the next round and it may be the game of the week. PAOK will play against the league's second-placed Olympiacos in Pireus and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
