Regular Season Round 6: Toyoda Gosei - Aisin AW 70-91

Undefeated Toyoda Gosei (1-1) recorded its first loss in Aichi. Hosts were rolled over by seventh ranked Aisin AW (1-1) 91-70. They made 17-of-20 charity shots (85.0 percent) during the game. Aisin AW forced 19 Toyoda Gosei turnovers. Strangely Toyoda Gosei outrebounded Aisin AW 36-23 including 25 on the defensive glass. It was a good game for point guard Kei Kato (172-93) who led his team to a victory with 14 points, 5 rebounds, 7 assists and 4 steals. Guard Fujita Shunsuke (187-93) contributed with 16 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. Four Aisin AW players scored in double figures. American forward Patrick Simon (203-92, college: Seattle Pacific) replied with 34 points (!!!) and 9 rebounds and point guard Eiji Sumihiro (171-89) added 8 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists in the effort for Toyoda Gosei. Toyoda Gosei's coach gave up on the game allowing to play twelve players seeing no chance for a win. Aisin AW left bottom position moving up to third place, which they share with 3 other teams including defeated Toyoda Gosei. Aisin AW's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Aichi .
