The game had a very big importance for sixth-ranked Saitama Broncos as it allowed them to take a leadership position. Saitama Broncos defeated bottom-ranked Tokyo Big Blue at home 109-97. Saitama Broncos made 23-of-27 free shots (85.2 percent) during the game. 26 personal fouls committed by Tokyo Big Blue helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. The best player for the winners was American forward Ferrakohn Hall (203-90, college: Memphis) who had a double-double by scoring 31 points and 11 rebounds. Senegalese forward Ibrahima Thomas (213-87, college: Cincinnati) chipped in a double-double by scoring 21 points and 10 rebounds. Four Saitama Broncos players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was point guard Yoshikawa Osamuakira (182-92) who recorded 17 points and 9 rebounds and forward Bryan Simpson (197-84) added 18 points and 10 rebounds respectively. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. As mentioned above they are at the top of the standings, which they share with Tokyo HT. Tokyo Big Blue at the other side still closes the standings with two games lost. They share the position with Kagoshima. Tokyo Big Blue will play next round against strong Tokyo HT trying to get back on the winning streak. It will be a derby game for which supporters look forward to, where their team will travel locally in Tokyo to the arena of Tokyo HT. Saitama Broncos will try to continue on its current victory against ninth ranked Toyoda Gosei in Aichi.
