Regular Season Round 6: Tokyo Cinq R. - Otsuka A. 65-93

Another interesting game was a derby match between two local teams from Tokyo: Otsuka A. (#2) and Tokyo Cinq R. (#3). Tokyo Cinq R. was smashed at home by 28 points 65-93 and even the fact of playing on their own court did not help. Otsuka A. dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to Tokyo Cinq R.'s 36. They outrebounded Tokyo Cinq R. 48-36 including a 37-25 advantage in defensive rebounds. Otsuka A. looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists comparing to just 12 passes made by Tokyo Cinq R.'s players. The game was dominated by American players. Forward Ray Raymond (203-84, college: Wisconsin) scored 21 points and 8 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and forward Kyle Richardson (201-91, college: Portland St.) chipped in 14 points and 7 rebounds during the contest. Four Otsuka A. players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was guard Andre Murray (188-87, college: Portland St.) with 16 points and 5 rebounds and forward Drew Martin (203-94, college: Concordia, OR) scored 8 points and 7 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Despite that victory Otsuka A. went down to third position due to points difference, which they share with 3 other teams including defeated Tokyo Cinq R. Otsuka A. will meet at home Kagoshima (#6) in the next round. Tokyo Cinq R.'s supporters look forward to another derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Tokyo to the arena Tokyo Excel..
